Hourly Pay Calculator
Regular hours (up to 40 hours/week)
Hours over 40/week paid at 1.5x rate
Hours worked beyond typical overtime (e.g., over 12 hours/day in some states) paid at 2x rate
How Hourly Pay Works
Regular Pay
Your hourly rate multiplied by hours worked (up to 40 hours per week). This forms the base of your paycheck.
Example: $25/hr × 40 hrs/week = $1,000/week
Overtime Pay
Hours worked beyond 40 per week are typically paid at 1.5x your regular rate (time and a half).
Example: $25/hr × 1.5 × 5 hrs = $187.50 overtime
Double-Time Pay
Some states require double-time (2x pay) for hours over 12 in a day or work on holidays. Check your state laws.
Example: $25/hr × 2 × 3 hrs = $150 double-time
Part-Time Workers
If you work under 40 hours per week, check the part-time box. Your benefits and tax withholding may differ from full-time employees.
Tax Treatment
Both regular and overtime pay are subject to federal, state, and FICA taxes. There's no special tax rate for overtime pay.
